Care during the Covid-19 pandemic
Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the Paxton Hall family (staff, management and health care professionals) we only had one “outbreak” of Covid-19 in March 2022 (identified as two of more cases of Covid) almost exactly two years after the start of the pandemic in March 2020. We did not have a single Covid related death in the home during the pandemic.
We are very proud of this achievement as care during Covid-19 was a particulary difficult time for the care industry and the country as a whole. Constantly changing government guidance was followed scrupulously and at times we imposed higher infection control standards on ourselves with the consent of staff and residents’ relatives. Admission of new residents was stopped for almost nine months to prevent the virus from entering the home thereby protecting residents.
We are now back to normal and there are no restrictions on admissions or visiting.
