This morning, 27 February 2023, we were joined by a lady called Angela from Little Paxton who is incredibly talented in making air-dried porcelain flowers. Angela brought along some of the work she had previously done to show the ladies and it’s safe to say everyone was very impressed. We sat around in a group and Angela took us through each stage of making a flower showing us all of the different tools and cutters she uses. The ladies enjoyed pressing out the petals and watching while certain elements were ‘veined’ giving everything such a realistic look. Once everything was prepped it was wonderful to watch it being assembled and everyone got a real sense of achievement knowing they’d helped make this lovely rose which we have been able to keep and admire.
