Paxton Hall is an impressive Grade II listed building of high architectural value with large impressive grounds and mature trees. The original house dates back to the Elizabethan times when it was rebuilt and renovated in 1738. The stately home was converted into a modern residential care home in the early eighties and a new wing added in 1988/9. There is an ongoing programme of refurbishment and capital investment to ensure that the home is able to provide a high quality of care.
Paxton Hall is owned by a family owned company, Kelam Health Care Ltd, which has been operating care homes for the elderly in Cambridgeshire for over 30 years. The company has owned Paxton Hall since 2000. The Directors visit the home regularly and are closely involved in the oversight of the home’s management.
The home is managed on a daily basis by an experienced manager and deputy manager, an administrator, and senior supervisors who run the care shifts. They are assisted by about 30 other staff including an activities coordinator, care assistants, a cleaning supervisor and cleaning staff, an experienced handyman and a gardener.
