Sled Dogs As Therapy UK (Sled Dogs) visited us here at Paxton Hall on Thursday 26th July 2018.
In the last couple of weeks, we finally had a few days of long awaited warmth and sunshine and, as a result, our residents were eventually able to sit out in their courtyard and enjoy the array of beautiful colours and scents of the blossoming plants, shrubs and climbers.
Several years ago, the Friends of Paxton Pits Nature Reserve (in Little Paxton) presented a nest-box to the residents of Paxton Hall Care Home and it has been used by blue tits every spring.
Once again Paxton Hall has been a wealth of Christmas cheer. What a wonderful time we have all enjoyed together! The Christmas tree in our grand hallway was a sight to behold reaching towards the ceiling. It was admired by all who came through our doors to enjoy some Christmas celebrations with us and loved ones.
Sunday 12th May saw residents of Paxton Hall enjoying their very own Street Party to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday.
A specialist web based training portal has been implemented so that our staff can upgrade their training on a regular basis. Staff now have access to over 25 e-Learning modules in addition to attending workshop format courses.
The main entrance hall was professionally decorated in December 2015 after many years. This was a complex task given the listed status of the building, the height of the ceiling in the hall and the ornate figures on the ceiling.
Saturday 19th December saw our Residents having fun at their special afternoon. Residents invited their families to come into Paxton Hall to enjoy special time with them just before Christmas. It was a lovely afternoon sharing chat and laughs over a nice cup of tea, coffee, sherry or soft drinks with mince pies and warm cherry scones from our own kitchen.
